The history of Namibia, is the history of our family.

Meet the Lamprecht family.

Joof and Marina Lamprecht - Founders of Hunters Namibia Safaris
Joof and I had a dream.

We dreamed of creating a wildlife paradise of wide-open spaces, beautiful savannahs teeming with great herds of various game species, and of running an elegant, traditional safari lodge with wonderful facilities, fabulous meals and superb service, all presented with the genuine warmth of real Namibian hospitality.

We dreamed of offering dedicated trophy hunters and their families the opportunity to experience fair-chase, ethical hunting in a vast area where the game interacts naturally in a wild and sustainable population.

We dreamed of a family business, which would make it possible for our children and extended family to be a part of a wonderful tradition in conservation, hunting and hospitality.  We dreamed of achieving all of  this  with  sincere respect for the community, the wildlife and the environment.Hunters Namibia Safaris is the realization of that dream… and so much more. We are privileged indeed to live our dreams – and our passion – every day.

Our magnificent country beckons, and our family and the entire Hunters Namibia Team would be honored to host you, and introduce you to the wonders of a safari with us. With warmest regards from our beautiful Namibia,
Hunters Namibia Safaris was founded in 1984 by Joof and Marina Lamprecht and remains family-owned and personally managed to this day.

As fourteenth generation Africans, the Lamprecht family has dedicated their lives to this land, its wildlife, and its people. Over the past four decades, we have earned an international reputation as Namibia’s premier plains game safari destination, defined by exclusivity, authenticity, and uncompromising ethical standards.

Our Team

Johnny
Professional Hunter

Johnny is our resident Professional Hunter and the definition of experience. He has been part of our operation for nearly four decades and is widely regarded as one of the finest PHs in Namibia. Johnny hunted alongside Joof Lamprecht for more than 30 years, learning the craft the old way, step by step, season by season. His bushcraft is exceptional, his instincts razor sharp. Quick with a smile and an easy laugh around the fire, he becomes intensely focused when the stalk begins. A true hunter’s hunter.

Tulanga
Hunting Assistant & Property Foreman

Tulanga has been with us for almost 40 years and is completely indispensable to the operation. As both hunting assistant and property foreman, he runs a tight ship on and off season, keeping everything moving smoothly behind the scenes. Highly respected within the local community, Tulanga is a natural leader with deep knowledge of the land and the people on it. Calm, capable, and unfailingly dependable, he is one of the quiet pillars of our team.

Henok
Head Chef

Henok is our head chef and a master of his craft. With over 25 years at the lodge, he knows venison better than just about anyone you’ll ever meet, and his ability to turn game into refined, memorable meals is nothing short of remarkable. Classically trained, endlessly creative, and meticulous in the kitchen, Henok also happens to be one of the funniest and most charismatic people around. Serious skill, zero ego, unforgettable food.

Lahjia
Head Server

Lahjia has been part of our team for more than 25 years and is the heartbeat of the lodge dining experience. As head server, she runs the lodge floor with warmth, precision, and an ever-present smile. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring, she has an instinctive sense for what guests need before they even ask. A true ray of sunshine, Lahjia ensures every meal feels effortless and every guest feels at home.

Hileni
Head Housekeeper

Hileni is our head housekeeper and an absolute rock star. She doesn’t walk, she runs, ensuring that every room and every corner of the lodge meets impeccably high standards. Trained under Marina, whose own roots lie in classic Austrian hotel tradition, Hileni’s attention to detail is uncompromising. In addition to keeping the lodge spotless, she is also our resident baker, making the fresh cookies that greet guests in their rooms every day. Tireless, proud of her work, and deeply professional, she sets the standard behind the scenes.

Candesie
Laundry & Lodge Support

Candesie has been with us for around 30 years and keeps the lodge running smoothly behind the scenes. Her primary role is managing the laundry, where she maintains exceptionally high standards and ensures every guest’s clothing is returned clean, fresh, and perfectly cared for. She also assists with lodge service when needed. Efficient, reliable, and quietly brilliant at what she does.

Felicitas
Head Gardener

Felicitas manages our vegetable garden and supplies the lodge with a large portion of its fresh produce, herbs, and greens. She has a deep passion for growing and nurturing plants, and it shows in the productivity and quality of the garden. Her work not only feeds the lodge but also supports the surrounding community. Thoughtful, dedicated, and deeply connected to the land.

Daniel
Head Groundskeeper

Daniel has been part of the team for nearly 30 years and is responsible for keeping the lodge grounds pristine. With a genuine love for plants and gardening, he treats the property with care and respect, often chatting to the plants as he works. Friendly, gentle, and deeply invested in his work, Daniel ensures the lodge always feels alive, cared for, and beautifully maintained.

Poppy
Lodge Support & Personal Assistant

Poppy is the newest member of the team, having been with us for around 10 years. As Rochelle’s personal assistant and a true jack-of-all-trades, she supports the lodge in countless ways, from administration and housekeeping to serving and childcare. Brilliant with children and endlessly capable, she’s a Swiss Army knife of a human being. Calm under pressure, warm with guests, and invaluable to daily life at the lodge.
