A meaningful connection with the local community
Hunters Namibia Safaris provides the primary source of protein for a nearby rural school of more than 500 children, where a dedicated group of teachers works hard to provide an excellent education.
The meat harvested during your safari helps supply this vital source of nutrition throughout the year — a direct and tangible connection between ethical hunting and the well-being of the local community.
Guests are welcome to visit the school during their safari, provided the visit does not interrupt the school day. Many guests describe the experience as one of the most memorable parts of their time in Namibia.
Those who wish to contribute often bring small supplies such as books, pencils, or other school materials, which can easily be purchased in Windhoek before arriving at the lodge. The children also enjoy simple activities and conversations with visiting guests.
While there is absolutely no expectation to contribute, many guests find that meeting the students and teachers creates a meaningful and lasting connection with the community that surrounds and supports this land.
What is HNS's relationship with the local school?
We are the sole protein source for a nearby rural school of more than 500 children — a quiet, ongoing arrangement that has run for many years. Meat from our hunts goes directly to the school’s kitchen.
Can guests visit the school?
Yes, when it doesn’t disrupt the school day. Many of our guests describe the visit as one of the most moving moments of their entire safari. We arrange it discreetly, with the school’s consent, never as a set piece.

How can I help if I want to?
The most practical way is to source supplies in Namibia with us — it’s simpler, and lets us match what’s needed to the season (sports kit in summer, blankets for the boarding house in winter). If there’s something specific you’d like to bring along — redundant laptops for the teachers, for example — that’s always welcome too. Just let us know in advance.
