European luxury, African hospitality
Food, Libations & Accommodations without compromise
Our lodge is run in the classic, elegant tradition of Africa’s great safari camps — a sanctuary of stone and thatch designed by Joof Lamprecht to blend seamlessly with the Camelthorn Kalahari’s rocky
kopjes and vast golden savannahs. Here, old-world charm meets modern comfort, creating a timeless atmosphere where every detail reflects the Lamprecht family’s heritage of hospitality.

Each day begins just before sunrise, with coffee or tea served in your suite, followed by a hearty breakfast.
Our gourmet chef, Henock, and his dedicated team prepare world-class cuisine, with venison from the hunt complemented by fresh salads, fruits, vegetables, and herbs from our gardens.
Daily baked breads and treats from the old wood-burning oven add a touch of tradition, while non-venison and vegetarian dishes are gladly
provided on request.
Guests return to camp at midday for a leisurely buffet lunch by the poolside summerhouse, with time for a siesta before afternoon adventures.
Evenings unfold with sundowners by the fire, where stories are shared in the glow of acacia flames, before the traditional drumbeat calls you to a candlelit three-course feast.
A curated cellar of fine South African wines, premium spirits, world-class Namibian beers, and fresh juices ensures every taste is indulged, with special requests warmly accommodated.
What is the lodge like?
Stone and thatch, designed by my father Joof and built into the bush rather than imposed on it. Five en-suite guest suites, two loft suites with fireplaces, a pool, and sun decks overlooking waterholes that bring the game to you in the heat of the day.
How many guests are usually in camp?
We host one party at a time, with a maximum of ten guests per group. The lodge is always yours exclusively — you will never share camp with another booking.
What about food and dietary requirements?
Henok has been our head chef for twenty-five years, and the kitchen runs on what we grow in our own vegetable garden and what comes from our hunts — we use everything we take. The day starts with a hot breakfast in the farmhouse-style kitchen, lunch is laid out poolside, and dinner is a three-course, silver-service affair by candlelight in the dining room, paired with wines from some of South Africa’s best vineyards. Let us know about any allergies or preferences ahead of arrival and we’ll make sure you’re properly looked after.
Is there Wi-Fi at the lodge?
Yes. We run satellite Wi-Fi throughout the lodge, including the guest rooms. A cell booster gives you signal in the main areas of the lodge, though coverage falls off as you move further out across the property. Stay in touch when you want to, and disappear when you don’t.
Are laundry and other practicalities included?
Daily laundry is included, as are airport transfers, soft drinks, house wine and beer with dinner, and fresh-baked cookies in your room — Hileni’s department, and one of the small things our returning guests remember most.
